Capt. Denis Menezes
Born in Mangalore, India, in October 1958, he completed his studies up to the pre-university level at St. Aloysius College. In August 1976, he embarked on a distinguished career in the maritime industry, where he has served for the last 49 years.
He holds the “Extra Master Mariner” qualification, the highest professional certification in the marine field. He served as a captain of bulk carriers and tankers until September 1994, when he relocated to Singapore. In a remarkable act of public service, he and his wife, Anita, were jointly awarded the President’s Certificate of Commendation on National Day in 2003. They were the only family to receive this honor for their contributions to helping Singapore overcome the SARS crisis.
Since March 2004, he has been a successful entrepreneur. He and his wife, Anita, are the co-owners of two companies:
